DOMINICAN REPUBLIC PHOTO DIARY

Yesterday morning I arrived home from the loveliest holiday ever with my boyfriend, Scott. I am super super jet lagged right now so normal blogging will commence in a few days! If you're reading this congratulations because that's a lot of pictures up there! I just wanted to include some of my favorites from holiday. My best bits include swimming with the dolphins photographed and visiting Paradise Island - a sand bank in the middle of the ocean which you can sunbathe on or snorkel around! We both snorkeled round and it was such a good day; the tropical fish were unbelievable! We were very sad to come home but I definitely missed my bed; which I will be going to shortly. So for now I will say goodbye. Adios amigos!

My Summer Make-Up Look

 

 

 

 

Since this lovely, glorious weather started my make up routine has severely gone down hill. I don't know about you but there's just something about heat that makes me not want to put make up on? Im putting it on while sweating which is just gross, for the first few days I was literally wearing mascara and that was it but I figured I needed some sort of base. I have been wearing 4 products on my face - yes, four! - so you can imagine how simple it is but it just works in this weather!

 

I start off by cleansing my skin and moisturising before I apply Collection's Lasting Perfection Concealer* to under my eyes, on my chin, nose, cheeks & a couple of splodges on my forehead; may be a waste of concealer but its actually got amazing coverage. Every blogger out there knows its brill so im not going to chat about it for too long. I work it into my skin using my Real Techniques Buffing Brush because I actually find this the best brush to apply my base with. I think my brush only comes in the Core Collection set as I cant find a separate link for it?

After purchasing Collection's Colour Lash in Clear* (I can't find a link to it but it was purchased from Boots.) at the #hertsbedsmeetup at the beginning of this month I have been using it to tame my brows! It does a really impressive job at keeping them in tact all day long, mine are very unruly and stick up in all directions if I don't do anything to them; especially at the moment as I am trying to grow them out slightly.

Ive just realised 3/4 of these products are Collection haha. I've been applying Collection's Extreme 24hr Felt Tip Liner to just below my bottom lashes/underneath my water line for some definition because I feel really naked without some liner! This is the best eyeliner I've ever used and its literally lasted me about 4 months & I use it everyday which I think is amazing for a felt tip liner. When im going out out I do use this to apply a cat flick but in this heat that's just too much.

Lastly but not least is the Rimmel London Scandaleyes Lycra Flex Mascara which I apply two or three coats of to my top lashes. I do usually like a defined bottom lash but this mascara tends to smudge on my bottom lashes and its just hot for bottom lash mascara!

I'm going to warn you now and say this is the biggest wishlist ever! Me & my boyfriend are booking our September holiday tomorrow to the Dominican Republic so Wednesday night I found myself browsing through every known high street store looking at what I could buy. I absolutely love the whole Bardot style tops & dresses at the moment, bright vibrant prints are also catching my eye so I fell in love with this floral Bodycon dress as soon as I saw it. I thought £30 was a bit much for a dress from Missguided so im hoping the material is extra good quality! I don't really need to explain my loves for crop tops again but I think this striped one would look good with anything; you could wear it with a high waisted skirt and a statement necklace for the evening or with a pair on denim shorts over your bikini. I love a cut out and the bright Aztec print of the tunic really caught my eye so I couldn't not add it to the list! I've been dying to buy this floral print midi skirt from work, I keep looking at it everyday haha but I think it would look amazing with a white or black crop top with some sandals for a casual evening look. I really love the colour of these pink hot pants - the description does say they're neon but they look more pastel to me? Im not really a pink person but these shorts are such a nice fit & the striped crop would look great with these. They also come in a few other colours such as turquoise & lilac.

I saw this giraffe print skirt a couple of weeks ago in the Topshop in Milton Keynes; I was going to try it on but £38 for a skirt seems a bit extreme? I love giraffes so when I saw it on the Topshop website I couldn't help but think I should've brought it. I absolutely love the style of these sandals and the bow is so cute; these might have to be a definite purchase! The two playsuits in the corner I think would be great bikini cover ups for around the pool & on the beach. I love the lilac colour & the lace detail on the reverse and the safari print playsuit is such a quirky print, I really like the whole pinafore/dungarees thing at the moment but im not so sure it would suit me well. Everybody needs a beach bag for their towel & sun cream and this one just attracted me with the summery colours. I've been seeing this floral frilly bikini at work and really love the bright vibrant colours against the white - this one may have to be a definite purchase as well!
