Wishlist #11 - Birthday

As its my birthday on the 25th of this month I decided to have a little look online to see if there was anything that I wanted... well nearly two hours later & an official wishlist is put together which I thought I would share.

1. Nars Sheer Glow - I have been lusting after this foundation for a very long time now but I'm afraid I just cannot justify spending £30... I have heard its so amazingly good I just want to try it for myself! So if anyone would like to buy it for me you're very welcome to! :)
2. New Look Floral Shirt - I'm not usually a shirt wearer - I wear denim shirts over tops and occassionally a check/tartan/plaid whatever u wanna call it shirt, but nothing like this. I think the pattern is amazing, its just like a black floral pattern with some birds flying around as well and I just thought it was pretty cool. I think it would look really nice thrown over some leggings with some black pumps or boots for a Spring afternoon.
3. ELF Eyebrow Kit - I don't actually own any ELF make up despite it being ridiculously affordable. This cute little brow kit is just £4?! Not only is that a massive bargain but I've heard this product is very good...
4. Real Techniques Starter Kit - I included this in a wishlist a couple of months back and I still haven't got my hands on this kit :( I really think it would complete my life. I'm not much of an eyeshadow wearer, the most I do to my eyes is put on eyeliner & mascara but I'm sure I could find other ways to make use of the brushes... the angled brush I could use for eyeliner or my brows, the eyeshadow brushes I could use for concealer... there are endless options!
5. Topshop Floral Skirt - oh my goodness how cute is this skirt?! When I saw it I literally started thinking what I could wear with it and what I could wear it for so I think its safe to say I really need it in my life? I love the ditsy floral print and its just so perfect for Spring even though its mostly black.
6. ELF Concealer Palette - Oh, another ELF product... this time it is the Complete Coverage Concealer Palette which Kayleigh at Couture Girl briefly reviewed in her February Favourites! After reading about it I immediately wanted to buy it because concealer is one of my favourite make up products; it can make you go from looking like a zombie to slightly alive in seconds! Also, this little palette being £4 just seems so tempting! Maybe i'll buy it right... now...
7. Marc Jacobs Daisy 'Delight Edition' - Marc Jacobs is god. He makes perfect smelling perfumes, beautiful watches & amazing bags. Daisy is my number one perfume and this new Delight Edition being released for Spring/Summer just has my name written all over it. Plus, I am loving the blue tint on the bottle.
8. New Look Selfie Sweater - I have been looking for a mint green jumper/sweater for about a month or so now and I love this sweater from New Look. Having Selfie on it just makes it so much cooler. I need it in my life.
9. Topshop Mom Jeans - Topshop are the only place whose jeans I actually get on well with. Its just a shame they're slightly not very affordable... or is that me just being a bit stingy? I tried on a pair of Mom jeans well over 6 months ago, loved them, but didn't end up buying them. Why? I don't know. But here we are again and I really want this pair because they seem like the perfect blue which isn't too light or too dark... I'm rambling now. Basically I just really want these! Their fit is so flattering and they really remind me of the jeans Rachel wears in Friends (which is my favourite TV show ever)!
10. River Island Pug Socks - If you know me well then you know I love pugs so I don't really need to explain why these are on here... these socks would make me so happy.
11. Clarks Tan Brogues - Today I went into Clarks with my mum as she wanted a new pair of boots & I spotted these beauty's... how amazing are they? I fell in love and tried them on but £55 for a pair of brogues is quite steep in my eyes so I sadly put them back on the shelf. I'm not entirely sure when I would wear these though because I either wear my converse or my uggs, there is no in between... but they are just so lovely and they felt so comfortable.

If you have any of the beauty products mentioned please let me know what you're thoughts are? :)

'The Blogger Made Me Buy It' Tag

I saw this tag a while ago on Cat's blog and thought ooh yeah ill do that and then just never got round to it until we were chatting and she said I should do it... so here we are! I really like the idea of tags because I think it gives readers an insight to what that person is like and they're really fun :)

1. Who are your most influential bloggers?
I have to say I actually find Lily Melrose quite influential because I think she is very honest & truthful in her reviews and when she says something is good I feel like I need to buy it! I also always turn to Sophia at Tattooed Tealady because she just reviews everything! From high street skincare to high-end make up shes reviewed it and she talks about products in so much detail I find it really helpful because you can know how to use something before you've even purchased it.

2. Do you buy products solely on the result of one review from your favourite blogger, or do you look for more reviews from other bloggers?
I definitely try and find as many reviews as I can, purely because I think the more you know about a product the better & you don't want to buy something on a whim that one person has says its good then its really not, and you've wasted money on something you're not going to use again.

3. What is your most favourite item you have bought as a consequence of blogs?
Definitely Bioderma! Is that a rubbish answer? I don't care... When I first started blogging in April of last year it was up & coming then and everyone was trying it. It got to the point where I bit the bullet & just purchased and I haven't looked back. I have recently tried the L'oreal micellar water and it really isn't as gentle & soothing as Bioderma. So definitely Bioderma!

4. What is your least favourite item you have bought as a consequence of blogs?
I'm going to have to go with L'oreal telescopic wings mascara... lots of bloggers out there rave about this mascara and I've seen it on other people and it looks amazing but unfortunately it just does not work well on my lashes... It doesn't curl them or add volume or do anything, which is a shame because I am a massive mascara junkie and I thought it would be amazing but it wasn't :(

5. Name 5 products you have bought recently as a result of blogs?
Last weekend I went shopping and picked up the new Bourjois dark kohl mascara because I've heard it's really good... Review to follow! I also got the new Rimmel London Scandaleyes eyeliner which I haven't actually used yet. I don't really buy new make up often - believe it or not - but not so long ago I bought the Rimmel London Apocalips in shade Across the Universe which I love! I really want to buy more colours! I read so many good reviews on the Seventeen Phwoarr paint under eye concealer so I bought that a couple of weeks ago and have been loving it.My 5th & final item I have bought would have to be Rimmel's match perfection foundation - I have used it before but a couple of years back now and I read some reviews which said it was still amazing so I re-purchased.

6. Have you ever given in to blogger hype? If so, what hype?
I don't actually think I have? I'm sure after I publish this I'll go 'oh yeah i remember now' but I really don't think i have given in to a hype.

7. Have you ever avoided blogger hype? If so, what hype?
Yes... I have avoided the Urban Decay palettes purely because I am not a massive eyeshadow wearer - I wear it sometimes for a night out if I'm feeling like it - and I just couldn't justify spending over £30 for something which I would probably use once a month.

8. Is everything you buy based on blogger reviews, or are there some items you buy without checking a review?
Most of the time yes, however if I am desperately in need of something, eyeliner for example, I will just run into a Boots or Superdrug and head straight to Rimmel or Collection without thinking because I know their products don't let me down.

Well, I really enjoyed this tag. It made me really think about my buying habits and how much i think about things. A couple of the questions I found hard to answer because I don't really buy make up that often (mainly because I cant afford it...)  and I'm not the most experimental person when it comes to make up looks haha.
Anyways, if you decided to do this tag let me know in the comments because I will be interested to see your answers :)

Wishlist #10 - Topshop Make-up

From L-R: Top - Lips / Liner / Smokey Eye Palette / Kabuki Brush
Bottom - Nails / Lip Bullet / Blush / Nails

Shock horror I don't own any Topshop make up but I have read many a good thing about their range. There I was browsing the Topshop website and I decided to create a wishlist. Lately I haven't really had any inspiration to blog and I find wishlists come easy to me because its relatively like window shopping? Plus I love reading them because I'm nosy so I assume everyone else loves reading them? Anyways here is my list; a couple of lipsticks, a couple of nail polishes & a good old eyeliner. Their nail polish range is something I have heard good things about - the range of colours they do being one thing and the fact they last long & don't chip easily being another thing. So the two colours I chose were Blue Jeans & Wide Awake. Blue jeans is an amazing green/blue shimmery colour and Wide Awake is just the perfect orangey coral Spring colour. Everytime Topshop bring out a new lip product I always think "why have I not tried any yet?!" I read many, many reviews on  them and wonder if they are as amazing as people say they are. The lipstick looks like a subtle peach/nude colour (Ooh La La) which would be wearable for everyday and the Lip Bullet is obviously more of a statement red (Joyride) which could work everyday or be worn more for a night out. Next up is the Kabuki brush because I need a new brush and I really loved the electric blue colour! My favourite make up has to be eyeliner because it just transforms any look from simple to sophisticated. I picked this one in the colour Black Cab because I like the look of the slick & skinny design and the nib looks really easy to use. Next I chose this Golden Aura eye palette because the colours are just so neutral & easy for everyday wear or you could build them up to create a smokey eye... which I, unfortunately, cannot do very well anyways so I would just use this for some highlight and natural eye looks. Lastly, the one thing I have read so many good things about is Topshop blush. This blush is in the colour Flush, I love the peach tone and i am definitely more a peach wearer than a pink blush as it suits my skin tone better so this would sit quite nicely in my collection.

If you have tried any of these products please let me know what you think? Wishlists make me want to buy everything I choose :(

Lots of love,

The Sunday Post: Beauty Wishlist

What better thing to post on a Sunday evening than a wishlist? Usually my wishlists are very fashion related but recently I have been eyeing up some beauty & skincare bits which I thought I could share!

I'm not a massive eyeshadow wearer as I think it doesn't really suit me that much. However, I love the look of the Sleek palettes and this Au Natural Palette would be a good place to start I think; lots of nice neutral shades! After reading many reviews on them, it seems they are a good buy. I have been wanting to buy some new eyeliner for a while but I am just too fussy, I always seem to be browsing the e.l.f website and for less than £4 you cannot really go wrong with this Cream Eyeliner. I definitely think that creamy gel like consistencies in eyeliner always seem to apply better on the eyelid and last much longer than liquid eyeliners so I will be trying this. Next up is something I have heard many rave about, the Lush Cupcake Face Mask - I don't usually do face masks because of a bad allergic reaction when I was younger. However, Lush are known for their fresh & organic products... plus, this is meant to smell exactly like chocolate and I love chocolate? So, win win! I am a massive fan of the Real Techniques brushes and next on my list is the Real Techniques Powder Brush - at the moment I am using a retractable multi-use face brush to apply my powder and I would just love something that is actually meant for powder rather than something I also use to apply blush & bronzer. I have also added the Real Techniques Eye Starter Kit to the list because I think it has a lot of good brushes included! The angled brush could also be used for eyebrows as well as eyeliner and the two eyeshadow brushes could be used to blend concealer! I have already purchased one of the Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipsticks in 'Glam Plum Fulham' but I have 'Let's Get Naked' on my list as it is such a nice peachy nude colour which is just so wearable for everyday. Simple is one my favourite skin care brands; its affordable & it does the job. I have thought about trying their Kind to Skin Eye Make-up Remover for a while now but I have always just re-purchased Bioderma to be safe. I haven't read any bad reviews on this so it may have to be bought when I run out of my Bioderma cleanser. Lastly, is the L'Oreal Elvive Anti Frizz Serum - I have been looking for something like this for a while; my hair gets super frizzy in any weather and this would be perfect to apply after I have blow dryed or straightened just to stop any frizzyness! I'm not sure if this is any good so if anyone has tried this please let me know your thoughts??

Hope you have had a lovely weekend :)

Boots Beauty Haul

Just a quick post before I go out to see the boyfriend; I wanted to share with you my bargains I got online at Boots. All this I managed to nab for just over £20 as I took advantage of the 3 for 2 offer plus the 'get a free gift when u buy 3 of the same brand so I ended up with four free items! Amazing!

I will obviously be doing full reviews on these if I reckon they deserve it ;) but I am already loving the Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick which I picked up in Glam Plum Fulham (470); the formula is so creamy & moisturizing on the lips! I'm so happy I managed to get all this for £20! Just in case you're wondering the bits I got free were the Baby Lips, the Rimmel Cocktail Colour Polish - which I think I am going to save for Christmas day - and the two eyeliners! Absolute bargain!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend. I am now off out for a Thai curry! Nom :)

The Make-up Post: Saturday Night

I'm back! After what seems like forever... recently I've had a bit of a mental block so I stepped away from blogging for a couple of weeks until I got my mojo back. So, I was meant to put this post up yesterday but I was just too hungover & tired to even function so here it is a day late, and i can no longer call it a Sunday post :(
I've been turning to my MUA Undress Me Too Palette a lot lately. Its easy to create a simple look or go all out with a smokey eye. The metallic gold's are my favourite as you can probably tell by the state of them; I usually just use my index finger to apply the shadow as I find using a brush causes quite a bit of fallout. The Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation is one of my favourites; its got such a creamy texture, doesn't leave a shine & has SPF 18 - winner! I usually dab it around my face with my fingers and then use my Real Techniques Buffing Brush to really blend it in.
As for mascara & eyeliner I use Benefit's They're Real on my bottom lashes and Rimmel London's Scandaleyes Lycra Flex mascara on my top lashes because it creates just the right amount of curl & volume. After I apply eyeshadow I add a slick of the L'Oreal Paris SuperLiner Blackbuster just to add some definition. I apply some just along my lower lash then as well then in my waterline I use the Maybelline eye liner pencil in white to make my eyes appear wider (can't find link sorry)!
I purchased the Look Beauty's Cheeky Trio in 'Candy Floss' - I don't rarely use the bronzer much but the blush is the perfect colour for my cheeks and I tend to just use the highlight under my eyebrows. To keep my make up in place I use a big powder brush to just apply Rimmel London's Stay Matte Powder in 'Peach Glow' over my forehead, cheeks, chin & nose.
Lastly, the eyebrows! I'm 99% sure this little brow palette is MUA but it seems to be different on the website? So if you happen to know what make this is please let me know haha! I think it could possibly be a branded product they did, who knows?! Anyways I use the darkest shade of brown in the palette and just sweep gently across my brows to fill in any gaps and make them more defined; I do this with a MUA eyeliner angled brush and I find it works better than the little brush that is provided. The palette also comes with a cute little pair of tweezers which I have found quite handy.

Would You Rather? The Beauty Edition...

Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
I would definitely have to say lose my palettes & eyeshadows. I don't have many to be honest so quite an easy decision! As much as I like experimenting with eyeshadows; the colours & different smoky eye effects I easily depend on eyeliner & mascara more and its what I wear on a daily basis more than an eyeshadow.

Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
Eeek neither sound very pleasant! I think I'm going to go with chop off all my hair because at least then you could wear extensions and it would eventually grow back? If you were never able to cut it again the split ends would be insane!!

Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
Definitely a coral cheek! I don't think pink really suits me especially now seeing as my hair is red. A coral cheek is more natural whilst just adding a bit of definition. I love the natural collection blushers - cheap and cheerful!

If you had £1000 to spend, Would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
My money usually goes on more clothes than beauty products so im going to say makeup! It would be nice to just buy everything I have read good reviews on and stuff that I have just been lusting after for ages! I have enough clothes to dress me and 12 million others so to pick makeup and just be able to spend would be amaziiiinnnggggg.

Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
I'm getting strange images in my head from this question, I'm not sure how lipstick as eyeliner would even work?! I'm going to go with eyeliner as lipstick because you could choose a golden nude or plum colour and just work with it? Applying lipstick as eyeliner... the thought is freaking me out!!

Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
This was clearly started in the US as we don't have a Sephora but if we did I would choose Sephora as they have so much variety! Believe it or not I haven't ever tried any MAC products... I will get round to it but I think its a little on the expensive side. Also, only ever going there and buying only MAC products would surely get annoying?

Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?
I am going to go with a lip colour. I tend to only stick to reds anyways; im not one to experiment lots with my lips as I know reds suit me better than pinks, plums & corals. Also, I don't generally wear eyeshadow everyday so would be easier for me to just stick with a red lip and work my eye look around that.

Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
OMG this is probably the hardest ever! Think I am going to go with winter clothes in Summer because the UK barely even has a summer anyways? It lasts about 3 days and then its cold/cloudy/raining/thunder storming again!

Would you rather dark nails or bright nails all year round?
At the moment I am absolutely loving the pastel colours but darker colours definitely suit me better. Up until a few days ago I did have lilac nails but once the sun took his hat off my nails were painted black! I don't actually like wearing pink colours on my nails anyways; I don't think they suit me. so would definitely have to be dark colours!

Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?
Definitely lip product because I don't wear anything on my lips 95% of the time. I would not be able to live without my felt tip eyeliner or my volumising mascara!

Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a pony tail or a messy bun?
I would rather wear my hair in a pony tail because I personally think its a nicer hairstyle than a messy bun. I can never get a messy bun right as my hair is quite thin even once I have backcombed and hair sprayed to the max; ponytail it is.

Would your rather never being able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?
I would have to say never use lipgloss because I'm not really a lipgloss fan as it is and my nails look horrific without varnish! Toenails without varnish on as well is just a nightmare in my eyes!!

Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all? or sharpie them in everyday?
I must admit I have had some eyebrow disasters in the past where I have over used my eyebrow pencil but can u imagine yourself with no eyebrows? Its just weird, theyre like a frame for your face and without them I think I would just look scary haha! I'm sure I could make a sharpie work for my eyebrows so yes, I would definitely sharpie them in!

Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
I would rather live without nail polish even though I LOVE having a good manicure and having my shellac done I hate going outside without make up. Not because I'm vain but because it just makes me feel that little bit more confident & my skin has some redness & spots and I wouldn't want that on display everyday.

Thank you for reading! I have seen tags like this before and always wanted to do it myself, let me know in the comments if you decide to do this also as I would love to see what you would choose! Credit to Kayleigh over at Couture Girl where I nicked this from! :)
